If you load Factory Presets 2, you'll see that different artists have provided presets, and they have section headings. Mine are in the 4th bank in that second FXB...it's at the top of the third or fourth column. Enjoy :)

Also, +1 for the reset request - very nice. Also, check out the dot to rename. But if that doesn't work, you can also rename patches in Live by choosing the option under the Edit menu.

Sure zebra can do some other stuff, but for fat leads, violent/hard pads (zebra do softer pads better), glides, hoovers, some types of basses etc sylenth is just the deal..

Those sound demos don't sound decidedly different from similar sound demos for Zebra

I'm not overly fond of those sorts of big unison sounds that are predominant. I do like how Sylenth sounds, but I like Zebra better for squelchy, edgy basses, cutting leads, percussion, string sounds, analog brass etc.

The sounds change, but not the patch name.
Have emailed Lennard about it. Seems to be a glitch. Anyone else?

I fucking love this synth!

i worked out how to change the names of presets tonight...look at the picture below..
you have to click on the little dot in between the number 4 and the preset name then type in your new preset name and press enter then save your preset..hope this helps guys...

Thanks Rob, but it is not saving the changes when I re-open my set. :(

I just upgraded yesterday, I must have missed your name in that 2nd bank.
I'm loving most of your patches Neb. Aurora- nice subtle mmmm.
Some nice pad work. SEQ Growl= sweet. :)

That should be in the 'Things I should've known but didn't thread'. Thanks.

Thanks for the compliments guys :) I was glad to contribute to Lennard's masterful work. Don't forget to tweak the filters and try out various velocities and mod wheels for my presets...I tried to make the sounds change in a big way as you do some simple mods.

As for the preset saving, I think you'll have to save the patch or the bank after renaming it, but every time you instantiate it, it'll look for Factorybank1.fxb

nebulae wrote:^ regarding how he achieved a phat sound in such low CPU usage, there was a great article that I dug up last year, and then I did a Babblefish translation so that I could get the jist of it...

Here's the link: http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=180091

Also, the CPU usage is quite insane...I did a remix (it's on the Lennardigital.com site under the "Listen" tab) where I used 8 instances of Sylenth1, some Vengeance drum samples, and the original vocals, and my e6600 cruised along at 20%...prolly around 10-12% on my now Q6600 CPU. Insane.
just been reading, thanks for the link

He also listens to his customers. I requested a reset preset enable, which has been incorporated in the latest update.
Nice, i've always wondered about if i could get such a button.

The sounds i listed to there is probably most for dance and trance hehe
But i think your comment concludes my thoughts, Zebra and Sylenth are different beasts but of course, like any other synth showing VA possibilities, they do overlap each other.

Iv'e never tried Zebra so i can't comment..as for Sylenth i have had it 2 days now and find that it delivers what i need i my music.
The Fx section is amazing and the Phaser is a must have.I'll be using this VA in most things i do now espescially when 8 - 10 instances only costs me between 20-25% cpu and works without problems in Live..Im just wondering what the cpu hit would be if opening 8 - 10 instances of Zebra? I don't know but i chose Sylenth and im glad i did...in the end it's down to personal preferences,i don't own Zebra so i can't put it down but i now own Sylenth and i can recommend without a doubt..

You made the right choice. It always finds a place, and usually in a pretty good spot within the mix.

Mmmmmm, a hardware sylenth.

It's making me hard just thinking about it.
As long as it was Ti.... sweet. :D

Sweet, so was I.

Just ask nicely. I'm sure if Lennard gets several reasonable requests, he will work towards some cool improvements.

I was, but Neb has set me straight. I was having trouble making my renaming stick.
