Files new to Live 7.0.9

Post by arachnaut » Sat Jul 26, 2008 6:45 am

For those who like to know -

I made this list by scanning for new files in my library after installing Live 7.0.9.

Since I just installed the PureMagnetik Panorama Collection, they are in there as well:

Files not installed

Post by eblomquist » Mon Jul 28, 2008 1:35 am

I got the message that the installation was not successful, because some file called something like acoustic guitar 3 in EIC wasn't able to overwrite acoustic guitar 1, which wasn't where it was supposed to be. I've moved my library around recently, so it couldn't find that one I guess. At any rate, is there a way to reinstall 7.09 or find out what file didn't get updated, and update it now?

I got the same error message - and I haven't moved the Live library at all:

What gives? Looks like it installed the new files anyway.

I got the same message, I assumed that the files it didnt update were updated in a previous version 7.07 or something, and that they were in the current version to accomodate people who went straight from 7.01 or whatever to 7.09

Could be wrong though

Hi folks,

the message about the incomplete installation is a bit confusing. It simply say the a certain EIC content update package could not be installed because the EIC itself is not installed.

However, the message is a bit confusing so we filed this issue as bug.
We also hope to address it with the next bug fix update.

Regards
/Alex

Alex,

I should not be getting that error message at all since I have the boxed Suite, including the full EIC2.

The message itself is contradictory:
The first line says "EIC2 Guitars: Live Pack is an upgrade pack that can only be installed on top of an older version of the same pack."
The second line says "EIC2 Guitars: Live Pack updated from version 1 to 3."

Those two parts of the message would seem to contradict one another.

So, which one is correct?

Hi Ajbbklyn,

you are right, the two lines seem to contratdict each other, but they dont really: after all, the first line only states a fact and does not say that it didnt install.
(Though I agree that it somehow hints into that direction :-) )

If you want to know the details:
The two lines are caused by the fact that this update pack can replace two different packs, of which you had only installed one.
But of course this doesnt matter at all, installation was succesful as you had one of the two possible base packs installed.
So both lines are correct in a technical sense, but the first line should not have been displayed as it is irrelevant.

We will fix that, sorry about the confusion.

Stefan
