Looping Samples at Original Tempo
Looping Samples at Original Tempo
I am trying to setup LIVE for a live performance, by importing a ton of loops. For example, I have 10 samples per song, and 2 songs loaded in right now.. for a total of 20 loops. The first set of 10 loops is at a tempo of 92, and the 2nd set of 10 loops are at a tempo of 111. The global project tempo is set to 92, and when I click on the 11th loop, to move into the 2nd song... it is played at 92, instead of 111. So I turn off WARP, so it will play at the natural 111 tempo for sample 11, and LOOP automatically turns off as well?!
Now my question, is how do I tell LIVE to loop samples at their original tempo?

Hey,
You don't need to tell Live to loop samples unwarped. The Scene triggers down the right hand side can now contain tempo information, just highlight a scene, hit Apple+E (on a mac, don't know the PC shortcut), and input the new tempo you want the session to be like this '111 BPM', and Live's master tempo will change accordingly.
Hope this helps. Otherwise, try setting up Follow actions to trigger two instances of the loop, one after the other, going 'next', 'previous', 'next' etc, and just set the length of the follw action to be the length of each loop.
Good luck.

HUH?
Can someone be more specific? I don't see anything on the "right hand side" and if you are referring to the Orig. BPM setting in the scene, it is be overridden by the global project tempo.
Help... this should be simple.

I have the same question. Is it possible to loop parts of recorded data - for instance, vocals - without warping?
For now I use the "tone" algoritm, but it still changes the sound sometimes. If I record vocals or guitar in a song, there is no need to warp the sound, because it is in the right tempo. However, I would like to be able to chose a part of the recorded vocals to loop.
Is this possible yet?
If it is, can anyone explain clearly how to do it?
Thx

In the Session view, the right-most column are your "Scenes". Clicking the play triangle of these Scenes triggers ALL the clips/loops/samples in THAT HORIZONTAL ROW.
If you click on the Scene slot and then rename it [using either the edit menu command or apple-E(mac)/control-E(win)] with "126 BPM" or "110 BPM" etc, this will change Live's project tempo to that tempo when that Scene is played.
So all you have to do is make the first Scene of each song start with a Scene called "xxx BPM" and away you go.
All your clips will chase that tempo until you trigger another Scene with "xxx BPM" as the title
