though this has been in the feature wishlist for ever...
please allow the Keyboard number keys (0-9) to send Keyboard control data.
every other app allows them to be used, but not Live.
i'd love to mute channel 1 by hitting "1", not "Q" or "A" or anything else. it would make sense no?

There will be an easier option to import entire tracks, cue 'em up, and automatically lock them down to the existing tempo. I'm envisaging a 'Deck' device, similar to an 'Audio' or 'Midi' track. A 'Deck' device may carry similar beat finding properties as that of Traktor. That would be pretty cool.
I find Live's current method of warping to be more than adequate. If it gets too automated then its prone to error, especially for music that has 4/4 then a breakdown, 4/4 then another breakdown. You'd still have to manually edit the grid. With Live's current implimentation I have total control. It doesn't take long to warp a track and once you've done it you never have to worry about it again. Small sacrifice in my opinion!

See the feature requests forum really! :)

I would like to say though... a free update wouldn't really go amiss to tidy up the loose ends from the transition to a full DAW. Plugin delay compensation, track offset, automation via VST UIs, sidechaining, support for DirectX effects on windows etc.

Finish off the 4 functionality then move onto the brave new world of 5 :D

Live now certainly has what a musician needs on stage. I would recommend to stop adding new features for this and that and all of this special needs of specialized performers. Extend and improve whats there already.

- Work on stability!!! Nothing is as embarrassing as a crash of Live on stage.
- Add full mp3 and ogg support for import / export.
- Reduce CPU usage of certain elements.
- Improve the midi editor. (Need to have the possibility to move by ticks!)
- Improve the file management in the browser view.
- Improve the template management for different hardware setups.
- Work on usability such as sequent zooming by key.
- Add more audio plugins such as reverse or vocoder.
- Extend existing and add more midi plugins such as an arpeggiator.
- More instruments such as soft synths.
- Extend the presets (Or sell a Live sample CD with presets for impulse and simpler)

In short: Keep an eye on the details rather then adding more and more new things.
Peace ... please ... I beg you ...
