lately (even with 403), live has started to 'loose contact' with my BCR2000 unit.
it happens after a while, the midi input lights don't blink anymore when i tweak my unit (and assigned parameters won't change). it might be because i use a USB extension cord, but the strange thing is that if i move an assigned knob in live, then the corresponding knob's LED will move accordingly on the unit...
so Live and the unit are disconnected, but only one way (from the unit to Live).
i'll try to see if it still happens without the extension cord, but i think it's strange, because the unit doesn't seem to be disconnected on the computer standpoint (still appears in the USB devices list).
anybody experiencing similar problems?
Live loses contact with BCR2000
First thing to make sure is in Windows..it may be nothing to do with a faulty BCR....Windows XP is setup to switch off the power to USB ports when not in use ! I had huge problems with my CME controller keyboard (and I am not the only one....)...It would stop responding...
Anyway,
In XP, go to control panel, then system, then there's a tab after Computer Name (I use a french version of XP so I don't know what the tab is called in English..in french it's Material)...anyway its hardware, (it's the third tab)...inside this you'll see a tab for a list of your peripherals....go in here, and select the USB bus controllers, and inside this there'll be entries for each USB port....go in, and the last tab is for USB power....unclick 'allow windows to switch off device to save power' ...do this for each port.....then restart......
it might sound complicated but it's not at all...
should work...
hope it helps...It worked perfectly for me...now my BCR and CME are always recognized....
