Windows Server 2008 as a DAW

Using Windows Server 2008 transformed into a workstation + Ableton 7.

I read the OS was +/- 20% faster than Vista.

Did somebody tried this and what are your conclusions ?

I searched the forum about this without finding any information before
asking here

I think you will find that drivers for just about everything will be a total pain in the ass. In other words I bet they wont exist at all.

remember the south park movie when the military guy gets bill gates and says "you told us windows 98 would be faster and more reliable" and bill gates says "it is, windows 98 is over 20,000..." BANG the military guy shoots him.

they always release something new and say it's way faster, and then we try it and realize it's the same damn thing with more crap wrapped up in it.
