Software - Sylenth

It's cheap,it don't use much cpu and it sounds amazing. It's great programming your own presets although the factory banks are excellent as are the available sound banks from various others.

Hardware - Virus TI

As above but nearly 14 times as expensive.....

Take your pick

NEW synth?

Why do you need a new one. All the synth-fun in the world can be made on an old Virus. I'm in fucking love.

If you do go soft, I'm sure you know, get at least 8 physical knobs working, otherwise you're missing it.

At the moment I am fantasizing about having both my hands on knobs whil someone else plays the keyboard. My favorite realtime controls for the moment are Tempo (for SFX or delayed echoes) , Cutoff (of course), LFO rate, Effects Send, FM Amount, Amp Attack.

Ghost in the machine.

You could try this as an alternate approach. It will make your existing synths create generative music. Might be a new way to get some inspiration.

nord micromodular? all depends on what you're after.
Does zebra play nice with midi learn and different controllers (axiom 49?)
If on mac how cpu intensive is it, can it work along side other soft synths opened in a host without any crashes......?

Musician's Friend and Amazon both have it @ $50...

If you don't spend the $50 on this, find a homeless guy, pay him $50 and ask him to kick your ass...
