It ain't over yet, mofo.

Oh, and let's really start looking at this little 'conflict' for what it is - a continued campaign of aggression on the part of the Russia to Break The Fucking Backs of every single breakaway.

In that respect, there's slightly more than a few thousand dead.

But, you know, don't let a few facts get in the way of your superior intellect.

do innocent civiliians in tshilvaly crushed by saakashvili troops count in your mathematical excercises?

you forget what came first. you choose to name your thread as "One Day The Russians Decided To Kill A Bunch Of People..."

why you didnt name it "One Day Saakashvili (along with the government of the USA) Decided To Kill A Bunch Of People..." ?

because that wasnt in your magic truth box. for you, it has only started with big mighty russian guys "crushing democracy in georgia"

you are pathetic

That fact that you consistently paint yourself and that shithole you live in as the 'victims' in this situation is laughable.

Georgia vs South Ossetia.

The very LEAST you assholes could have done was ask the *worthless* UN to intervene. Would that have been too much to ask? I guess so. I mean, after all, there's GEORGIANS that need to be killed. Those stinking bastards.

Actually, I was going to name it...

One Day Russia Invaded Afghanistan and made the USA's involvement in Iraq look like a good day at Disneyland

But I was about 20+ years too late, and the time thing just didn't make any sense.

i find the way you named this thread insulting
for those russians who have a compassion towards south ossetians and georgians

what you do is bringing hate
and hate is a universal thing

the more there are idiotic monkeys like you, lndr1, like5, and plexiglass who invested his "5 cents" into the hatred for russia - the closer we are to the edge of war

there are many things to dislike about russia
i don't like it much either

but there are a lot more people with compassion for innocent people in south ossetia and georgia than you could possibly figure from your news

It should not be lost that it *is* the case that the Georgian army blasted up the political capital of South Ossetia and reports indicate that this may have involved 'indiscriminate shooting'. But having said that, 4.33, I think the parenthetical reference to US involvement is less founded than the reports of Georgians being pushed out of Abkhazia, which is pretty much 'ethnic cleansing'.

The arguments between US and Russian kind of go like this: "Well, it's not any worse than what *you* did when..." which is at least a kind of dialogue :) It could be improved by following up with "well, maybe, but that aside: what can we do to make this better?".

[edit] and of course the title of the thread is inflammatory and shallow.

Landrvr1 and thelike5: Are you seriously not even going to acknowledge the fact that Russian forces attacked Georgia in response to the Georgian army moving into South Ossetia destroying towns and villages and indiscriminately killing civilians? And I’m not talking about collateral damage, but wilfully targeting fleeing civilians.

After that we can discuss how excessive Russia’s response was (or whether the separatists in South Ossetia had it coming, what the world should do next, or whatever you like), but for fucks sake throw us a bone here and show us you’re capable of discussing the facts.

Hey, remind me again.

How many of your own people did you guys kill before, during, and after WWII?

5 million? 10 million? 20 million? I think it was more like 20+ million.

My god.

The great part is that when anyone refers to that bit of fun it's always "Stalin killed....". Nevermind that he had the full cooperation of thousands of 'pure' Russians.

20 million of your own people.

You could take Every Single Person that the USA has ever killed and not come close to that number.

Not even close.

Pretty much puts the Russian mindset, and this latest campaign, into very clear perspective.

Go Russia! FTW!!!!!!!

:P

*landrvr1 sits back and waits for the rebuttals in which people will dispute the mass killings that the Russians perpetrated on their own people or, at the very least, say it was only like a million people or so. Just a million.

I think you'd need to have a little more than that to conclude the US was behind it.

The Georgian Army moved into South Ossetia?

The Georgian Army has waged a campaign of illegal aggression against South Ossetia?

Saakashvili is insane?

Since when?

I read the interwebs, fuckface. If you need me to say those things in order for you to finally acknowledge that Russia is, has, and always will be little more than a Killing Machine, so be it.

20 million of their own.

Gotta love it.

Talk to me again about Kent State, mikemc.

Okay,

Haven't looked at the forum in two days. Checking in, I find that this thread has generated close to 200 posts. Most involve politics, war and people figuratively screaming at one another.

I had this thought: What if this user forum had existed 40 years ago? This thread would be centered on,
  • Russian tanks rolling through Czechoslovakia to crush the Prague Spring
    The Olympics in Mexico City
The Presidential Election, including the riots outside the Democratic National Convention in Chicago and the aftermath of the assassinations of Bobby Kennedy and Martin Luther King, Jr.
The United States' involvement in the conflict in Southeast Asia
The only thing missing here is the Beatles' announcement that they're forming their own record company.

Plus ca change, plus c'est la meme chose
