USB controllers

Post by Patch » Wed Oct 20, 2004 12:36 pm

How easy is it to set up 2 differnt controllers for use with live? I want to use a UC-33 and a small midi control keyboard with knobs. Would I be able to use the 2 controllers at the same time to affect different controls on a track? ie - use the fader on the uc 33 to control volume on a track, and use a rotary knob on the keyboard to control the pan on the SAME track? I've not used a controller before and am looking at options. I use live at the moment to DJ - but I'm getting more into production and so will need a keyboard. I'm looking at a Novation or an M-audio keyboard.

This should be possible without a problem, click on the midi learn button, tweak the controller you want to have assigned and it should work!
I´m waiting for this one:

or the A.on, it is firewire, but no pics for the moment.

I believe it is very possible in LIVE4. I just, after having LIVE for 10 months, got a MIDI/USB connector for my Yamaha P200 (88 keys, touch sensitive, weighted). So now I am going to try to use it in conjunction with my PCR-30. Will let you know how it works, but having the 88 keys is really nice.

do you know when it will come out in Belgium, the A-on? Would it be 'safe', cause not everything i heard about ESI was good...

Yesterday I was at our musicstore here in Luxemburg (we only have one!!), they said that it was anounced for september and they already have a preorder but nothing about a fix date!
Esi says in Q4 2004, but no idea when!
The price will be 399 euros and if it is as nice and rock solid (no cheap plastic) as the quatafire 610 that I saw in the shop it´s worth waiting for it I think!

hmm, yes. the concept is really nice. i only am a bit afraid of buying something of ESI, and it's maybe also not wise to buy a new-product immediatly, because there still can be a little 'kidsickness' in it
