How to create a vocal ride...roll..??!!
I don't know if it has been asked before, if it has, I couldn't find it....so please, bare with me...I'm trying to create the effect were let's say for example the word 'hey' going from slow to very fast....like hey.....hey.....hey...he..he..he..he.ehehehehee..yyyyyyyyy...y (with pitch changes) I tried putting a note avery 1/8 then every 1/16 then every 1/32...and that kind of creates the ride....but I can get it to go faster to the point were the word is not longer recognizable and you just hear the yyyyyyyyyyyy (with pitch changes)...hopefully, you understand me, and help me crack this...thanks!!!

use slice function
drop your audio sample in the arrangement view. right click on the wave and click "slice to midi". This creates a new midi track where you can draw in notes to play pieces of the sample you sliced. not just retriggering the beginning of the sample. Choose at least 1/16 resolution. Then using the newly created midi track, use the midi note editor to draw in your pattern. Now you have controll of even the syllable of each word. Be sure to adjust each slices sample to eliminate and zero crossing pops and clicks.
Simply dropping your "hey' sample in simpler and adding an arpeggiator device will only repeate the the saample from the beginning of the sample for the chosen gate length.
This is why I suggest slicing it to midi and rearrange the slices the way you would like to hear it. You could even add an arpeggiator to the slices track to create repeats of not only the beginning of the sample but the breath sounds and any sweet spots you like. I hope this helps
