Asio bus' question

Post by Mbazzy » Fri Nov 15, 2002 9:35 am

Don't know is this a feature or a bug, or if it's because of Live or the Asio driver ... but it just occured to me when I use the ASIO driver of my Hoontech DSP24MK2, that with Live as standalone application I have access to 10 bus' (1/2-3/4...9/10), but when Live is Rewire slave eg. To Bidule, than i have access to 16 bus'

Hi Mbazz,

when using Live standalon or as ReWire Master the Bus (= 2 mono channels) count depends only on the audio hardware. If your audio hardware provides 10 mono channels you have 5 busses. In this case the busses correspond to physical audio channels.

In ReWire slave mode no audio hardware is used because the busses are just a logical connection int the ReWire master application. By default we provide 8 busses (= 16 mono channels) because some ReWire applications have or had problems with more than 16 channels.
For the case that 16 channels are not enough for you can set up to 64 channels with LiveOptions file (see the Manual Addendum for version 1.52)

I hope this issue is a little bit clearer now,

regards,
Alex
