DJ transition to ableton

Post by WalshyDJ » Sat Oct 23, 2004 6:07 pm

Guys and Gals,

I am a working DJ and I have just purchased Ableton Live 4.

My question(s) is(are);

Can I use the software at one of my gigs, I have heard Sasha uses it.

Do I just wire it into the back of the mixer?

How the hell do you mix the tunes, beat matching etc etc as you would on the old ones and twos?

Please, please help.......?

if you have the loop samples set up properly and starting/ending on the beat, then it will match them up on its own.

It's a bit much for one of us to explain it. You have to do it in order to learn how it works. Try the DJ tutorial in the Support -> Tutorials section of this site. That will get you up to speed quickly.

so do you have to pre-set up your tracks you want to use for a gig, with the warp function?
I have a lot of tunes, is there a quick way to warp the entire track?

C'mon Walshy, downlaod the demo and try a tutorial. We can't provide all the answers for you. Yes, you must Warp the songs ahead of time.

Even better: Walshy already owns Live 4.
