Obama says: "That's above my paygrade..."

Post by weeddigger » Tue Aug 19, 2008 5:02 pm

http://ie.youtube.com/watch?v=XRZX_ndZN ... re=related

This video snip was taken from a faith based debate of sorts between McCain and Obama. Most news seem to stop playing this at him saying "above my paygrade"...

I think if he said all the nonsense after "above my paygrade" w/o the "above my paygrade", there'd be no heat whatsover...

Whatever...

Mccain says unambiguously he's pro life, interesting how the pro life people are also pro war.

It was exactly the right answer for someone who upholds the concept of separation of church and state.

I don't think you can generalize like that. I also wouldn't consider McCain, "pro war."

Furthermore, one could ask: Why are all the, "pro-choicers," anti-war. The absolute reverse and same difference of what you said.

You made a left wing comment, without substance. Typical.

8O OH NO!!! LEFT WING COMMENT?!?!?! RUN!! EVERYBODY RUN!!!

You do realize your "right wing" comment is nothing better?

Too fucking funny. Now that's typical... This is like FOX news' idea of Fair and Balanced: Right wing monkeys make shit up, and everyone else, shuts the fuck up... that's Fair and Balanced, the Fox news way.

 at least you're honest about it, I respect that. I agree that you called out a contradiction, but it doesn't negate the argument. the GOP is pro life until you're born, then they're ready to kill on a whim. it's IMPOSSIBLE for the court system to get the death penalty 100% correct, it's fundamentally broken. it's also IMPOSSIBLE to stop abortion. sheltered motherfuckers don't get that "it can't happen here."

abortion will happen regardless of the laws. make it safe, provide counseling (before and after) and adoption options. it's an insult to women that the GOP thinks it has to be government controlled.

McCain isn't pro war?   no, he's a peace loving hippy, makes me all warm inside. do you know the McCain family history and their involvement in every war the US has ever been in?

really, anyone who's 71 (72?) years old who runs for the POTUS does not have the country's best interests in mind.

sometimes I wish I was a cross hugging Republican, so damn easy, no thought required.

Not really left or right, can't stand either, my perfect ticket would be Nader with Ron Paul as VP keeping him in check.

But Pro Choice people tend to believe that an unborn baby within the first three months is not even the same thing as a baby. Life begins at birth etc. while pro life people 100% believe that life begins in the womb, as far as I know also are aware that people die in war.
So it's pretty easy to see that even from the perspective of the person who believes these positions why the left would argue that the pro life crowd is bending perception a bit, even from their own perspective.

I'm on the pro death ticket BTW, more war, more abortions, and guns for everybody!

Tone, they think too.

The Republican thought process:
1. How to screw the little guy.
2. How to screw the little guy and make it seem it was his fault.
3. How to convince the little guy he should screw himself.
4. How to pretend to be straight.
5. How to convince others "Gay is Not the Way"
6. How to convince the wife Billy is just a friend.
7. How to convince the wife EDS has nothing to do with wishing she was a man.
8. How to pretend groping the male intern was just an old college football move.
9. How to convince others that being rich and white is a handicap in America.
10. How to convince others that Ann Coulter is a woman and not Bill O'Reilley's gay lover.

yeah, and 'we' have to have the humility that we can be wrong as well. I think the real truth is somewhere in the middle. there are perfectly rational intelligent people on both sides of the argument. I enjoy listening to well spoken republicans, it helps me understand my own views better and maybe I can learn and grow as a person.

as for your list, the Democrats have their own tricks, it's just tooooo easy for us these days.

politics blech, music good.

I can understand the comment since you don't know me or my views... I'm not convinced one side is right and one is wrong and could care less for Democrat this or Republican that. This actually has more to do with having fun more than anything else.

Yes it is easy to make these jokes, but isn't it about time? Bringing balance to the issues whether its using comedy, truth or repressed anger shouldn't by ushered aside in the name of middle or higher ground. There are times and places for everything... I personally believe its long overdue people responded to the conservative thinking with as much passion as they have put into their evils plans to rule the world.
