The best part about drugs is that thing that happens when you're on them that's so awesome and incredible, it changes your whole life and makes you a a better person instantly. It's impossible to explain to someone who hasn't been there...

I like to indulge every once in a while down at Fabric in London. Maybe once every 3 months these day.

Just, as other posters have said, drifted away from it......

Not that anyone asked my opinion...

Post by rasputin » Fri Aug 22, 2008 5:06 pm

...but I can't be dogmatic about it anymore. Reading Terence McKenna and going to an Alex Grey exhibit--how can I say that I'll create anything 1/100th as good as that in my entire life, and Grey apparently soaks in LSD....

On the other hand, one of the great geniuses I admire was Frank Zappa, who limited himself to nicotine and caffeine...

I guess the problem is *abuse* however defined...in moderation, in the right circumstances (i.e., don't drink that 40 while you're driving to work), almost nothing is really *bad* in itself.

/except maybe meth

Silverfish wrote:In an ealier thread I asked how many people involved in electronic music do drugs regularly. They suggested I start another topic. Okay.

I've never done a drug in my life, alcohol included, but I love electronic music. How weird is that? I'm not particularly bothered by other people's lifestyle choices. I just never chose to alter my reality in that way.

Perhaps a pile of blow and some dead hookers would change my mind.

Smoke some weed then listen to your tracks. It will be an abstract view of yourself. And bear witness to see yourself on multiple planes of reality that you were never aware of.
