Tip: Dropping Samples on a Drum Rack
Tip: Dropping Samples on a Drum Rack
I've made a little video that shows you how you can control the default states of the Simpler or Sampler that appears when you drop a sample on a Drum Rack.

hoffmann2k, that was absolutely great stuff there! I was wondering for weeks how to do exactly what you did with the velocity, since I like to do the same thing within my drum racks.
A very big and sincere Thank you!

I think this worked in an earlier version of Live by dragging a Drum Rack with a single slot that contains simpler + EQ + Compressor to the default folders.Tytus wrote:I tried this trick but it doesnt work if you want to use an instrument rack instead. Example, I want Simpler, Compressor and EQ8 to automatically be in the chain when I drop in a sample. So this only works with .adv files unless im missing something.
thanks though...this still helps alot.
But this only works for slicing presets now. Not sure when that changed or even if it was possible at all. But it would make sense to be able to save a Drum Rack with some effects on each slot. The only workaround is making a default Drum Rack preset that contains whatever you need. But the problem is that you'll need to drop samples on the Sampler or Simpler directly because dropping it on the slot will replace everything inside it. Another so called improvement that came with Live 7.
