How to create a techno chord

Post by Kozak » Tue Aug 26, 2008 7:34 pm

I am trying to create this standard techno stab but I can't create it.

It's the chord used in this song http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oh30pdwmG9o

Mason - The Ridge (Oliver Klein remix)

I hear it in alot of records and want to use it aswell but I can't get near. Is it FM they are using? (since I am only using analog synthesizers).

I would hazzard a guess at a really tight piano chord... Sure there's a rack in the presets which approximates this sound, it just has a chord plug, a scale plug and a simpler...

just play a chord, use piano kinda sounds, play it short and add reverb or a little delay.. that should do it.. oh yeah and timing is key offcourse :D

that sound is from a juno, i'm pretty sure or a juno equivalent.

get a juno-106?

no idea how much they cost.

you can probably find something in ableton simpler that is similar.

FAKE IT!

yup, I would go for a key synthetizer or a piano patch in absynth and chord/tweak

Thanks guys I have been able to recreate it and indeed it reuired a piano sample! I've also noticed that you can make a decent techno chord with Ableton's Tension as standard preset.
