Voted No. I'm using it inside. Taken to gig (recording a band Live) not more than 4 times.

wow, thanks guys!
I wanted to get one mainly because they look beautiful - it's really hard to find PCs that look nice.
The ones with cracks don't look nice though, they look cheap
I'll wait to see what the new macbooks are like - hopefully they will change the closing mechanism/those two ridges/the plastic

I await the development of cracks in my currently crack-free MB with baited breath. Think I better get AppleCare.

People throw their laptops around like they are crash test dummies - and they are surprised that they break.

These cracks are all due to the magnetic closing mechanism snapping the two ridges down on the palm rest causing stress fractures which eventually lead to cracks.
The new macbooks are rumoured to have metal cases, so this shouldn't be a problem anymore.

took my mac book a couple of days to crack. i was pretty mad. but that was 2 years ago now, so I'm over it now. i imagine the new ones aren't as bad for it.

you do realize that non-macbook owners just wanting to fan the flame will answer these polls negatively and skew the result?
myself included.

MacBook Pro T7600 / OS X 10.5.7 / Ableton Suite 8.0.2 / Peak Pro XT 6.1.1 / ReMOTE 37SL

My Mac Book got some cracks and discoloration.
I just mailed it into Apple Care, and 4 days later I had a new case. For free.
It's good as new, so everyone quit hating.
And don't use tape/glue/gum/etc to fix your computer! Send it in to be repaired! (unless your warranty is over)
