Acapella warping.
Acapella warping.
hi there i have literally just matched an acapella with a song to make a remix...but as i slowed the acapellas master tempo to sync with the music, the voices pitch goes too low so it sounds slow motion instead of in key with the music.
hope someone can help me

You have to make sure you aren't actually warping (stretching) the vocal parts or you'll have problems.
I usually double click the numbers before and after each vocal part and use those to move the part around. Kinda hard to explain.
Another solution is in Arrangement View you can just Split the clip around the vocal parts and arrange as needed.

If I receive complete song- more tracks then just vox- I put them all in arranger tracks, check the whole thing then warp any rhythm track , copy .asd to vox track.
Other way is chopping into small samples and using unwarped as far as it goes and warping individually so that they sound right. Anyway there is not much room for tempo change with warp. Better use dedicated software like Melodyne if there is to be more drastic BPM change. However I would use even lousy sounding ones as reference-place holder and replace them only when the remix is ready.

the best way to do a remix with an accapella (or any sample for that matter) is to build the song around it. fit the music to the sample/acapella not the other way around.
you can make small adjustments to it by double clicking the warp markers and draging them using the correct warp algorithm (i think resampling for vocals) but basic rule of thumb is to use the sample as the foundation

thanks so much guys!
i couldnt fin the high quality button at first because i didnt look hard enough...i expected to see a button saying high quality...not high Q.
anyway i hit the button & it made no change to the acapella for some reason...why is this please?
also i changed the warp mode & it worked!!! thanks!!!...but...is there any way of improving the sound? as the warp mode has made the vox sound slightly spoiled / glitchy
hope to hear from you soon
