Is it possible to set up some external foot pedals, specialized midi software and a midi controller and achieve the same multilooping function of the Boss RC-50 loop station? Any one ever tried this?

I don't know the Boss but you should have a closer look at the Kid Beyond Artist videos.

Sure. A lot of threads about it. Live is very good at livelooping, excepted for a few points :
-no overdub
-impossible for the first loop to define the global tempo
-no reverse

Thanks for the insights... Kid Beyond is incredible! I hope I can see him live someday.

I did, before I used live. Was very amazed, but found his show got a little dry after awhie.
