Mac to PC compatibility? Please help

Post by samuelstark » Tue Sep 02, 2008 10:54 pm

Hi got a macbook at home running Live and I want to get a PC for my studio with Live as well. Live is supposed to be true cross platfrom, does anybody know if you could:

1. Copy my Ableton Library from my Macbook to a PC. Install Live on the pc and use my "old" mac library with all my rack/sampler/drum settings? Would be great not having to do it all again.

2. Is it possible to open up a project saved o my macbook on my PC? (if I use "collect all and save) without any problems?

Thanks a lot for your help! :)

#2- yes, if using incompatible vst's, live warns you, just delete it from the project, then save. or delete it before hand.

#1- yes, copy the library to your hard drive, point live to it in prefs>file folder>library location, then delete new one.
