Yeah, but unfortunately it's also the DAW equivalent of using a bank who's method of keeping your money safe is to throw it down the creases of your couch...

Then I have a look at what locations new content was installed to, delete the new library and install again to my main library.

I hate the library..
I love Live.. (well, most of it!)

Re the library, i guess there is some logic to it.. but tbh it often does me a kipper!

There's an uninstall button in preferences > Live Packs

Well, by using the uninstall button, the bits of the basic content that I left in place (i.e. didn't customize in terms of organisation) would be removed. Hence it wouldn't help.

i'm probably saying the obvious, but i usually show "date modified" as a field in my patch-browser ... i sorted on that field to see the new operator drum presets.

these presets are awesome and intensely inspiring.

I just re-organised my library how I would have liked it to work

What do you think will happen when it comes to installing a session drums or drum machines update. Do you think the updater would get really confused? Also, reckon it could cause any confusion with authorisation for the packs?

I guess the sensible suggestion is to archive a copy of the library in it's original form.

yeah I guess the best idea is to back it up - at least the 'drum racks' folder that contains all those ADG files as it wouldn't be that big

I don't know how it will affect things yet, and it will probably be shafted as soon as I update next, but I didn't update from 7.07 until designer drums forced me to

so I guess I'm hoping Ableton will see the sense in it and do it that way

the way it currently works is crazy though
