the best deal I ever got would have to be the juno-106 for $200 USD off of craigslist. it's in fantastic condition too. I almost passed on it too cause it didn't have a power cable and the dude rigged up some kind of home made redneck power supply using alligator clips and wire, it was scary looking. but I bought it and got a power cable at samash.com for $9.

I bought a electribe ea-1 for $59 at guitar center once and after playing with it for a few days realized it wasn't even worth that much to me, couldn't stand listening to it any longer than that, so I sold it for $100 to a kid on craigslist. I'm kinda mean like that I guess... but $100 was still far below anything on ebay.

I'm just trying to point out that buying vintage gear is an amazing investment. $1200 for a Mono/Poly today will likely be an unheard of cheap price ten years from now.

In mosts stores i've been in here in europe/uk, i always see a mono/poly. Yeah, it's a nice little synth, but classic valuable vintage? really? i mean, i could most likely get a bunch of them at 300 bucks a piece. I bought my first in 2001 and paid around 400 bucks. What makes vintage gear valuable is the quantity, and you can pretty much get a mony/poly whenever you want so believe me, people paying sky high prices for a mony/poly is just not going to happen.

And to go on topic for once, a legit Logic 8 Pro package for 100 bucks or a Mattel Synsonic for lunch money.

on a side note a friend of mine in ohio once found one in their parents closet and they said they could give it to me, so they put it in a box and shipped it without insurance. damn thing never arrived and never got returned to them. that was about 8 years ago...

Well, the exchange rate is awesome for us so 1200 bucks isn't really that much (it's almost 50% lower than ten years ago, go figure) but it's still alot for a money poly, so it'd never going to be worth twice that.

I helped my friend snag one from us ebay for 340 bucks + shipping just a few months ago and it works just like it should.

I put some new tubes in my emx a while ago and it's like having a new, improved electribe. Also my R3 is turning out to be a good purchase, versatile synth engine with good fx and a few tricks up it's sleeve. The midi interface on it has saved me lot of headache.
