Unfortunately the text looks like crap. (still beta)
i may print it and hang it on my wall
I'll make a bigger one later if I can find the high res photos, after 2AM(CST).

Yeap. Going to go play some tf2 before we all die, and I'll make it when I "get back."

not for another 9 hours I don't think - isn't it about 5.30 GMT?

and they're only firing them one way, no collisions yet

I don't think the collisions will start for a few months, but they have just injected particles into the collider and will be spending the day trying to get them to go all the way around it.

it's totally awe inspiring but so far beyond me - how the hell do they 'inject' particles?

I found this site quite useful for explaining things more clearly

Had to increase the size of the source image a little so it would fit right @ 300dpi in an 8x10... will still look good printed out.

Great game!

It's pretty amazing that they have to cool the collider down to below -270c which is colder than the space between galaxies.

Excellent Q&A with Brian Cox here: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/7598996.stm
Especially the last answer!

So it's going to be months before they collide, eh? And... let me guess... it will take them YEARS to tabulate the data from the tests, yes?

Science. Bah. I need instant gratification! CERN needs to take notes from point and shoot digital cameras with the little screen on the back.

The only serious issue is why so many people who don't have the time or inclination to discover for themselves why this stuff is total crap have to be exposed to the opinions of these half-wits.
End of the story...
