I wonder if this a "powerbook-only" restriction, but I can only map the alphabetic characters to live functions. Even ä and ü is not working.

key mapping
Hi, fairly new to Live.
I can't get most of the keys to work live for key mapping. Only q, r, i, p...?
Not sure why this can be, this is both for my laptop and new imac. Any suggestions on why most keys don't work for key mapping?
thanks
ash

The computer keyboard can be used to input MIDI notes as well, and this is ON by default. Click the little "music keyboard" icon, top right of Live, to turn it OFF, and you can then use all of the letters for manual mapping.
Kind regards,

All keys please
I am with people on this - The more flexibility the better. It has anoyed me for a while that the Function keys are set to the Mutes of the Mixer and can't be altered.
I wouldn't want the all out Key mapping flexibility of Logic - But a bit more would be very useful.
Best
