Monome emulator on Kaoss Pad 3
something i've been working on lately, thought i'd put it out there and see it worked for other people too! since the KP3 and monome are both 8x8 grids i figured why the hell not?

oh yeah and this is alpha-test so don't get all upset if you can't get it running... still buggy as hell.

Cool site you got like the RCA jacks instead of switches good thinking.
One remark: On your wobblevision TV project it says keep yourself GROUNDED this should be ISOLATED, if you're grounded and you get a shock you're really fried because the electricity actually has somewhere to go.
There are wrist straps to ground yourself for working with static electricity sensitive devices lik ICs but they have a 1M resistor.

"any video??"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H5ACSPPMg3o
the interesting stuff starts about 1 min in.
"Great idea, I had posted some messages on the KP3 forum about doing similar but was told the KP screen won't respond to incoming messages. How did you get around that?"
you send the KP3 an x-value to 0C and a y-value to 0D and then turn the hold button on to light one LED. then turn hold off and repeat the process really quickly so the LED doesn't have time to turn off before you are turning it back on...
"yeah but how about a kp3 emulator running on monome..."
lol i would think that wouldn't work so well since the nice thing about the KP3 is the touch screen instead of a bunch of buttons?

new version available,
http://circuitbent.wikispaces.com/Monome+clone
this one solves some problems with MIDI connections that were inherent in earlier designs, mainly due to poor coding practice and my own general lack of MIDI/OSC knowledge.
post here with any problems so i don't have to keep answering the same questions via e-mail
(i really am happy to help so let me know if you have any problems!)
