Be interested to see what it retails for, looks like it could be a nice addition to a couple of Faderfoxes.

SHHHSHHHHHH

It's confidential! They don't want anyone to know about their press release.

BTW it looks crap.

I'm prepared to wait for a demo vid til I come to that conclusion!

BTW you interested in a Dublin Live Users thing? Thinking about doing something over the DEAF weekend. Well actually it probably wouldn't be strictly a Live thing, possibly some NI-centric stuff too.

I don't know what is soooo revolutionary (at least from the Serato demo), you could do the same with any traditional MIDI controller. We'll see...

what do you think of your controller for using with Live? (not traktor) how does it work out in daily real world production use?

I dont use it with Live at all and havent even tried it for that - Im waiting for their VCM-600 for that which should be here before the month is out.

Actually Im not really sure how a dedicated DJ controller can be fully utilized with Live (yes its just a midi contrller and so the controls could be assigned, but in a meaningful way for more than a couple of channels and 4 knobs of an fx rack?) - its just a different animal for a different job.

The VCI-100 is (or appears to be) designed spcifically for Traktor (and to a lesser extent, other similar software), and for that its really excellent - build quality is great, so have high hopes for the VCM-600 as well, even if it means changing the way I do a set in Live quite significantly, but it seems workable and as a controller - appears to be way way better than anything else out there or even on the horizon.

I know the VCM wont fully cover my needs for production - it simply doesnt appear to be able to control enough tracks, but it will still be a very useful production tool for laying down a track form clips - alot better than I currently have. Where it will earn its place however is after that - once a track is complete and I have it mixed to stems and need to re-chop it for a Live set - where 6 tracks should be mroe than enough. Like I said - it will need some changes - being hard limited to 6 tracks + 2 sends tends to focus the way you make up a set a little which is a good thing. :)
