nate_D wrote:for version 8 they should also make sampler/operator/electric/tension/analog free. i don't really want to switch to another program but at the same time i don't want to pay for plugins that should have came with any full version. i've been paying for upgrades since version 3 (minus version 7). i know you can't really compare the two, but logic comes with soooo much more shit than just the bare minimum. i know this horse has been completely beaten to death by now, i'm still just a little sore about it.

also, dual monitor support would be nice.
You can get these for free... after you prise the serials out of my cold dead hands.

There’s nothing Ableton “should” do, unless they’ve registered as a non profit making organisation or have become a public service without my noticing.

Sorry about your dilemma. Logic comes with soooo much, but you’d rather use Live. That suggests Live has added value despite Logic’s content. Clearly, you want it all and don’t want to pay for it. I understand, really. There’s a few things I’d like to have for free too.

Ableton’s top priority is to make money. They may pride themselves on giving good customer service, fair pricing, etc. as I’m sure they genuinely want to do the right thing by their customers, but this is still based on a business model. A good one too for a relatively small company with a specialist product.

People are always saying Ableton should be giving us free upgrades or free instruments, or whatever, but the fact is they owe you nothing. Except in the case of bug fixes or not delivering on advertised features. In these cases I’m sure Ableton will be happy to cancel your license and provide a refund, if requested in a reasonable timeframe from purchase.

Market research and sales forecasts or stfu.

Relatively stable here..It's just my machine that stinks :( BUT AFTERTOUCH will be great once the Abes realise how inadequate Live is without it 8) Can't beleive they 'overlooked' it

Is there any information posted anywhere about the new features, even gossip? Tried google, but didn't have any luck.
