Any Hard NRG people here?

Especially in the midwest US or northern UK, but interested in people from anywhere.

I like all that HI Nrg crap.....

:D

Why? R u really fun to trip with?

8)

Brixton and Vauxhall are like my two favorite neighborhoods....

Anyways, not enough of that stuff in the USA... Any dj, who spins hard trance here, is constantly looping Monochrome, and about nothing else.

Makes me good and sick.

I've been getting into psy lately, but OMG, so much psy is just such SHIT.

It is so hard to find good records in the LAST year or so, because so many labels, are making so little money that:

Everything is so pathetically and cheaply mastered, and the talent no longer wants to spend the month or two it takes to make a good, tight track....

Arrg... You caught me at a weird time.

Hey look, a response to an OP longer than a sentence...

Woo Hoo

Peace.

Yeah, I'm in chicago, but i'm from the uk. have been involved in the hard dance scene for a long time back home. I was just back over there for a gig a couple of weeks ago. just looking for people to maybe collab with on this side of the pond.

It's a bit of a tired genre in many respects, I'll be the first to admit..but there are still some gems around.

btw I enjoyed some of your tracks, specifically the first 2.

Florida sounds like a good idea, heading into the chicago winter, lol

Cheers,

J

Music is totally in a state of flux right now. What club did you play at back home? Are you dj'ing in Chicago? Where at? Florida has a very smooth winter. I'm a really fun, social, albeit semi-crazy person. lol... Everybody's crazy though. I come from a band background, so I'm pretty good with other musicians, except via the net. I've tried a few collaborations on the net, and they are so tough to work out. What styles of music are you interested in producing? I don't disagree that hard dance, has tired a bit. Seems to me that, people are looking for some experimentation again. I think it can be very hard to sound fresh and new, and familiar at the same time. I used to live in London, but I haven't been in a while... I'd love know to know what Vauxhall sounds like on a saturday night right now. Full on dark psy? That would be my guess. Do you have skype? How long to plan on being in the states for? Dual citizen?

Feel free to PM me, if you don't want to answer all these questions in this thread.

I played (play?) at Cause & Effect, up in Newcastle Upon Tyne..

http://www.causeandeffect.org.uk/

I'm from a band background too, actually - drummer, played all kinds of stuff over the years. I'm not DJing yet in Chicago - haven't found anywhere suitable yet anyway for the NRG stuff or for nu breaks or old school rave/hardcore, which I play too.

Will PM you

J
