HELP... export temp / time sig changes to PTs?

Hi Guys

I need to export some elaborate time sig / tempo changes to pro tools. I've tried creating a midi file but it doesn't seem to retain this info between programmes.

Any ideas would save my bacon !

UP ! Me too ! (actually to switch between Logic and Melodyne)

Yes. I've test with long midi files in the arrange corresponding to several time sig and tempos, and it seems that midi files generated by Live only keep the first time sig of the clip, but no tempos nor time sig changes.

It's quite frustrating, and also amazing : these parameters are well recognized and set in the set from imported midi files.

I've seen in these forums that it had still been discussed but not solved. Perheaps is it relevant of the wish list, but if so,

I think it has to be considered as an important request (would'nt it be only for exchanging with other musicians working with other daws).

Hi there

What you can do is put a kick drum or some kind of short impulse on each beat throughout the whole track.

Then export that as audio into logic or protools or whatever - you can then grid to the beats. This will give you your tempo map - then export as a midi file or whatever.

I know that's a brief explanation but you can make it work !

Well it is certainly too simple that I did'nt thought of it !!!

But actually my main problem was to choose which version of Melodyne I'll buy : plug in or stand alone, so I was focused on that point and was not thinking of a possible workaround (although I think that I had still use it years ago !

)

I can so think of the stand alone version of Melodyne (that I'd prefer) the time we'll wait that Live can do it (I think it's not possible at the moment).
I'l have to go through Logic first to build a Midi tempo track, and I'll have to enter manually the time sig also, but it'll anyway make things easier and quicker that to rebuilt the whole tempo map !
