Shame on you Ableton. Is this how you run a business???

This place is a hell hole.

Nothing but petty insults, bullying, intimidation, threats, bigotry, sexism, croniism, machoism, and childish attention seeking.

When people buy a computer software product like Live, they are buying into the whole package, which includes the community.

Ableton, you have the worst forum of any software company and it can only affect your business in a negetive way. I payed for Live originally because I liked the company. Now I'm not sure anymore.

Take some pride in your community and show a little self respect.

If not, show some respect for the people who payed for your product.

OK, I've payed for Abes product a lot and have been a registered Live user since version 1. Give it a rest. Bless Abes for a killer forum.

Btw, i'm speaking for most of the community ;) and we feel it's the best music forum on the net. Obviously you have better experiences at different forums. So why are you here? Why walk into a car wreck? Oh, you need info? What are you looking for then?

Dude, you need to pick up a Dead Kennedy's record and a 40.

Ban cunts who make multiple user names because they are too much of a pussy to post under their "real" alias.

2] Do you not understand what the word "general" means?

This is not a forum about music,
or music software,
or any related topics.

This is a place which is entirely unmoderated,
and we know you are not old enough to communicate
in an appropriate way. However, some of you know
that being cool is based on insulting others.

It most certainly is.

It does not matter, if you have one post or 5000+, if
you want to post here and be part of this rarely nice
and helpful community you do not have to respect any rules.

Carry on!

Some sort of change has to be brewing.

Personally I think the forum should be split up with one moderated section for anyone to read and post questions. If people get too disrespectful warn them and then boot them.

The rest of the forum sections should be left as is but made read only for non-registered users. Registered as in "I actually own this software".

This way people can be cool or they can be assholes, but they do it under one name.

Sometimes things get a bit stupid here but I would take that and the occasional reminder from Rob Henke and the Ableton team rather than have the draconian policies of the Steinberg Cubase forum where a) you need to be a registered user and input your dongle codes to be allowed to have a username and reply to posts b) a few so called 'mods' but who are really frustrated wannabe Stasi (Robert is right about those 'report abuse' buttons), decide what goes and what doesn't and they are not consistent but employ favouritism. c) Your thread can be locked and/or deleted with no trace without warning d)you can be banned without warning at any time, including your dongle code being blocked.

That forum is almost dead. I mostly just ignore the off topic threads but I would prefer not to go down the registered user/heavily moderated/banning route. This forum is one of the best. Ableton allow a lot of discussion and even negative comments on their software in a way that would be tolerated for about half a day at Steinberg before the thread 'disappears'.

Thanks again to Ableton for their common sense approach and hopefully some of those who really are abusing the forum policies might step back a bit and get back to talking about the relevant stuff i.e. music, music production, music technology or Ableton related issues / feature requests etc.
