When MIDI Ports appear in orange - and cease working

Post by Ozias Leduc » Thu Apr 03, 2008 2:06 pm

Sometimes my MIDI devices cease working- and when I go into Preferences > MIDI : they appear in orange (they're normally in black)

What does this mean?

Hi,

it depends a bit on the operation system in use. An orange port in general means that a port is not available and/or used elsewhere. In can also indicate an emulated port.
First of all I would recommend to reinstall the latest drivers for your audio/midi devices. If that does not solve the problem, please contact support@ableton.com with your log.txt file attached.
You can find the log.txt like this: select 'Get Support" from Live´s help menu, in help view, click on 'Show preferences folder' - you´ll find the file log.txt in that folder.

Best,
