Midi input port apears in orange color n doesnt work

Post by 9thcloud » Sat Sep 27, 2008 6:53 pm

Hi

i used to play my external midi keyboard well with live (microkonrol) wired with a midi cable into my Edirol FA101 soundcard.

for a few weeks now, it doesn't work anymore, the microkonrol is recognized by other DAW, but not in live 7

when i go to preferences/midi/ my Edirol fa 101 midi input apears in orange color

does anyone knows what it meens and how to fix it?

Windows xp SP2
Dual COre
Live 7.02
Korg Microkontrol
Midi cable

orange means trouble, it's not recognized or outright broken.

have the device on when Live starts.

disable and re-enable it.

with Windows you really should always use a device on the same USB/Firewire port. also try reinstalling the drivers. sometimes other non-music devices can screw up a device, like a camera or something.

on Windows I like ASIO4ALL as my sound card driver. it's free and sometimes better than the stock stuff.
