on 9.2 is the audio input supposed to recognize the 828 interface or just soundmanager. I am running 9.2, powerbook titanium, live 1.5, 828, digital performer, fastlane.
on osx with the 828 beta test live recognizes the 828 interface. this has me very confused.
audio input 828/live
I haven't used OS9 for a while, but from what I recall, I think you need to put the 828's ASIO driver in Live's ASIO folder. Restart Live and then select the 828 in audio preferences. The cool thing about the 828 is that you can use the headphone output as your cue and send the mix out separately. But the headphone out is hardwired to the 828's outputs 1 and 2. So you'll have to set Live's main out to 3-4 or something.

Hi Sean,
You don't need DP to use the 828, it has its own drivers. I think you will find that OS9.2.2 is pretty stable and as long as you have a backup plan on stage, it shouldn't hang very often. I almost never encounter problems with Live in OS9.2.2 and the 828. They both perform nicely together.
Thanks for sharing about your OSX experience, although I would prefer it to just work, its good to know I am not imagining the crackles. I am going to email MOTU (again) that they STILL need to work harder on core audio drivers for their products. I would be grateful if you would email them too, customers need to let them know.
Thanks,
Geraldo
