HATCHA - Flippin' (DFRNT Remix) 320s...
what exactly is so DFRNT about it?
i really mean no offense with this, but it sounds like the typical softer side of that older "UK Dubber" mentality. no boundary pushing, no experimentation - just play it safe and scoff at all the new stuff.
it sounds like r'n'b, to be honest. the production value is absolutely stellar. but it's so mediocre. like to play it safe? =)

that Mongoose remix almost had me, thought. the soundscapes are phenomenal. it's just all together too bland for my taste.

DFRNT is just a name - not a description. I produce tracks that I enjoy the sounds of. I'm not in to RnB in the slightest, but maybe some of that vibe is coming through, I don' t know.
And with regard to boundary pushing and experimentation - I'm not fully in to getting all experimental - I like creating what I know, and just pushing my own envelopes - For me, this was a personal push, and I was trying a lot of subtle things within the mix - but perhaps to other people, it probably didn't sound up to much.
And I prefer the softer deeper side of dubstep at the moment - the harder edged, wub-wub wobble bass stuff isn't inspiring me - I'm never going to win the race for "best rediculous bass" - leaving that to people like Coki, and other masters.
I don't expect this to explain much for you - but it might at least give you a little insight in to where I was going.
