my $0.02. hang tight, see what happens.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA... priceless... the fed and bush are going around saying if they are not given unaccountable power that Financial Armageddon is just around the corner
and some democratic congresspeople were told that they were risking the imposition of martial law (on the streets, not the congressional kind) if they did not vote for the bill and you are concerned what a few people might say on a forum!!

I appreciate it's a bitter pill for you to swallow but in a few years you can look back and smile at the nonsense you wrote.deva wrote:of course you like it... you do not live in the US and the industry you work for just received a vast welfare check... there are plenty of people who are genuinely happy because their personal bottom line is improved, but for the US and most US citizens, this is a disasterNorthernMonkey wrote:No worries, we'll agree to disagree. You do realize your point of view is ironic, as its the same sort of chaos/panic speech politicians were given to push this through?deva wrote:of course you like it... you do not live in the US and the industry you work for just received a vast welfare check... there are plenty of people who are genuinely happy because their personal bottom line is improved, but for the US and most US citizens, this is a disasterNorthernMonkey wrote:No worries, we'll agree to disagree. ...anyways, its been signed into law, with an extra 150 billion. whoohoo! (sarcasm).
I know Deva you are still convinced that we should have let it all fail, but as stated before... "a" bill was going to pass because one was needed. Was this the right approach? ...300 pages of rhetoric, that barely scratches the surface of what's needed, but its still better than no action at all, despite your objection and other's objections.
There was far more at stake than most realize.
Its a crazy system we have, were people make it rich betting against the financial system and hoping for its failure. No matter what way the system fails, wether today or tomorrow, the rich will stay rich and everyone else will bare the burden of their decisions. This is our system and the only way to changing it is by working your way inside and then back out. Watching it fail only fucks the "little guy" more than what's happened already.
...one day you'll understand.

to be fair, if america goes down its taking the uk with it. So if this bill fails to ignite the markets then the uk is going to be hit almost as hard. except we haven't been lumbered with something like $3000-$7000 each.NorthernMonkey wrote:Why should I foot the bill?OvertoneZero wrote:NorthernMonkey wrote: Emissary's welsh and he wasn't very keen. My point is that it's quite groovy for you since you don't have to foot the bill.
