Should I be seeing vst and au plugins when running Live as a rewire slave to protools?
It works seamlessly otherwise.
On: G4 800 10.3.4 PT6.4 TDM HD

In a word ... No! Only the Abelton plugs and instruments are available when Live is a Rewire slave.
If you have a finished project in Live that you MUST use, you will have to render, then import the Live tracks by following these steps:
-insert sufficient new audio tracks into live arrangement
-route VST/AU tracks to new tracks via "Audio To" Live channel menu
-arm and record all the new audio tracks
-save Live song as self-contained (maybe in a new folder)
-Live will save the rendered audio as WAV files with names like "0001 17-Audio" (where 17 was the number of new audio track)
-import these new files into Logic or PT and line 'em up on the 1
