Australian's will use the word "mate" to refer to a friend, or other person, but it's male only, right?
What do you call a girl?
I think I remember Crocodile Dundee saying "Sheila"...

If you can imagine it, it can happen...

LOL...
Princess I think might get beer poured on me, but ehh... depends on the chick. I've known a psycho or two that would love to be called princess all the time, be it a stranger, or George Bush.
She was a whore.
Probably still is, but I don't ever hang with her now...
Anywho...
LOL...
Thanks guys.

'mate' applies to anyone or anything born of this earth. Male, female, friend, stranger, your grandparents, your dog....it's all 'mate'.
Do NOT, under any circumstances, attempt to use the word sheila!

Don't even bother, I sound like a wank saying "g'day" or using words like shelia here.
If you don't have an aussie accent, it just doesn't fly

ask them to speak the words Mark and Mock, and try and tell them apart. It's funny.

Or "have you got a fucking problem mate"
This is basic English, and is often the precursor to a fight or bottling.
