Wanna remix Pitch Black? We have cash...

Post by Pitch Black » Wed Oct 08, 2008 9:30 am

Edit - The Results Are In! - see: http://forum.ableton.com/viewtopic.php? ... 08#p893908

Gidday,

In the first half of 2009, we're going to be putting out a Pitch Black Remixed album, and we'd like you to be on it.
The remix kit for Harmonia, off our latest album Rude Mechanicals, is now up as a 100MB zip file at:

http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?zozwtmjuhgw

The Zip file contains an Ableton Live 6 Project with 24bit WAVs laid out ready to go in Session View. Grab it and have a play!

So... Why are we doing this? What's our aim for all this?

Well, firstly, we love hearing our stuff remixed! We love hearing other people's take on our sounds.

In putting out this remix kit we have two plans:

As mentioned, we will be releasing a Pitch Black Remixed CD in the first half of 2009. We will put one or two of these Harmonia Remixes on it. We will split the ownership and publishing of these remixes 50/50 between the Remixer and Pitch Black, and also pay an advance of NZ$500. In addition to the advance, the remixer will receive 50% of any money generated from the sale or licensing of the Remix.

We will also be putting a selection of the remixes on a digital download single in early 2009. Ownership and publishing of these will also be 50/50 Remixer/Pitch Black, but we won't be able to pay out an advance on these. However, you the remixer will still receive 50% of any money generated from the sale or license of your Remix.

Q: Can I use the parts in my own tracks? A: YES! If you want to use the parts in your own tracks or shows - please do! However, if you are going to make any money off these tracks, please get in touch with us and we'll work out an appropriate and fair deal. Basically: just let us know, we'll say yes, and cut us in on a bit of the action. In putting this out there, we're hoping that open-ness and honesty will prevail and good times will continue to be had by all. (How's that for the Pitch Black Corporate Mission Statement? )

If you have any queries or questions, please post here, or drop us a PM.

Finished remixes can be sent to us via a file sharing service like yousendit.com or mediafire.com, or by post to either PO Box 78014 Grey Lynn, Auckland, New Zealand 1030, or PO Box 14988, London SW6 2WL, UK.

The deadline is January 5th, 2009. Looking forward to hearing the results!

Happy remixing! :D

I'm narrow minded...all I see is an active download link and the word "Remix"...the rest is irrelevant
