wrong. it will update only the active preset..djsynchro wrote:I don't know what he's rambling on about hitting control M?
You can have sends 1-8 on 1 preset on the BCR, select the next preset where you got 9-16 (a good way to do it is put a new MIDI channel in every new preset, keep the controller numbers the same)
The encoder rings will update as soon as you switch on the BCR.
midi feedback update on bcr encoders (switching banks)?

djsynchro, are you maybe confusing the groups with presets? From what I understand, each preset has four groups, but these groups only change the top 8 encoders. These update when changing groups, but apparently changing presets does not update the LEDs. Do you have a different experience?
I couldn't care less about the top 8 alone. I want all 32 of them to change from one set of mappings to another. That's it. Just twice. and when I do, I want to see the rings represent the state of the parameter.

I know what a preset is and I'm telling you, when you press the button "preset" the encodres DO update.
I have set it as follows:
Don't use MIDI channel 1 (reserved for my BCF in Mackie mode)
Presets 2-16 have all the encoders send controllers 0-56, and the Midi channel is the same as the preset number. I have set the BCF so that when I switch it on it's on preset 2.
I use RELATIVE 1 (7-bit) mode for the encoders in Live it's called (Relative 2's comp) this is the one that sends increment/decrement messages so you don't have to use "value pickup" in Midi settings.
When I switch a preset the LED's change. By the way standard setting on the BCR is only one LED on the ring lights up, not very informative, the top encoders only can set to gradually light up the whole ring.

Sounds pretty good, thanks for the info.djsynchro wrote:I know what a preset is and I'm telling you, when you press the button "preset" the encodres DO update.

I got a Nocturn as well, it also does feedback of parameters but when using to send Midi CC's the parameters do jump. It's not very elegant in the studio Live wouldn't be good. Controller pick up is a pain becuase you can be turning a knob and nothing will happen and there's only the status bar saying parmeter waiting to be picked up.

Getting Midi return messages to my BCR2000
When I set me BCR2000 up as a control surface, preset 1 has a whole lot of default mappings to Live controls. When these controls change within live (eg automation), the new values are received by my BCR, and the appropriate LED's change to reflect the new values. All according to the plan...
However...
I have created a new set of mappings (in preset 10), and these mappings do NOT receive the updated MIDI values as above.
I have also tried copying my custom preset to preset 1, but that seems to make no difference. It seems that the only preset that receives the updates, is the default #1.
PLEASE HELP as this will make a world of difference to me.
Thanks
J
