best free plugz 4 simple reverse + tape stop osx?

Post by The Phat Conductor » Thu Oct 09, 2008 5:23 pm

i'm really sick of supatrigga's shenanigans...

can anyone recommend a nice, simple, free plugin which can do reverses and/or tape stops?

I use Reaktor for everything but i still bought Sugar Bytes Effectrix for this effect, the stops and reverses sound great and can emulate both vinyl, tape and even more mangling stuff.

Totally worth it.

shenanigans.. lol.. Instajungle doesn't do tape stops.. but then again it doesn't do anything unless you ask it to and if I recall correctly the OS X version is just as good as the win version.. Effectrix.. all the other third party glitch plugins.. pale in comparison to the win only DBlue Glitch though.

EDIT: I just remembered something. The latest OS X version of Instajungle is unreleased but that version is UB. If you email the author and ask nicely I'm sure he'd send you a copy.

i grabbed this after seeing this thread. for people who like manual control rather than sequenced/randomized fx, this is by far the best glitchy mangler i've heard.

did you read the title of this thread?

he wants it for OSX.

It's just soooo easy (read: lazy) for you PC users to throw out the words "dblue" and "glitch" anytime anyone wants a chopping/mangling/reverse/glitch/tapestop/etc. type of plug-in.
:)

Unfortunately they still have not ported glitch to osx.

Instant Sampler is pretty badass - it's just a shame that all the variables are in milliseconds and not quantised to 1/16, 1/8, 1/4 etc...

(I stopped using a calculator in the studio a while back...!)

wasn't aware it wasn't available for OSX... another bloody good reason to stick with windows!

i went and bought effectrix. it's pretty sick, but i ended up going back to using good ol' ms pinky for my stops. it sounds a lot better for some reason...

effectrix is much better than glitch tho IMHO.
