Once Again... It pays (or you save big-time) to be behind the 'Beta' curve

I picked up a discounted-to-clear G4 PPC lappy cheap cheap when the first intel macbooks were introduced - Still pounds out Live, Adobe, and anything else I need it to do.

IMHO Firewire & Ethernet ports are essential - shat even my G4 lappy from 1998 has them (and I still use it everyday!)
2.8ghz Quad Mac, Live 9.77, Remote25, Maschine 1, Fa-66 optical link, Samson 65a. Dog hair.. lots.

If they dropped firewire and ethernet I still might be interested in a Macbook if they lower the price enough. I'm hoping for a price drop.

And damnit, I wish they would go back to putting all the ports on the back of the computer.

what's all this talk about the new NVIDIA chipset? Apparently it's much better for graphics but I haven't seen anywhere whether or not it would be much faster of a cpu. Are there rumours it may be quadcore or anything?

I lose so much desk real estate from all the wire crap coming out of the sides of my MBP. The express card slot is the worst but I don't think that has ever been on the rear of any computer. One can dream.

where are you getting these pictures? And are they going to have a 15 inch macbook? (As opposed to MB Pro). Still just a dual 2.6 Ghz max cpu speed huh?

yeah I saw the firewire drop coming, but I always figured the camcorder market would force them to keep it...but it looks like my next lappy will have to be a pro instead of a mac book.....nice while it lasted I guess.....
