launching track on time...
i've been getting into dj'ing with live, but i am having difficulty playing the track on time. i'll have the start point right on the first beat, but when i hit play, there's a split second delay that keeps the beat from dropping where i want it. is anyone else experiencing this nuisance?

Can this same principle be applied to effects?
For example if I have EQ Three running, and kill the lower frequencies of an audio track, this happens in real time. Is it possible for me to for example kill the lower frequencies before the end of the bar, but the action not to take place until the beginning of the next bar (as with turning a track on and off)??
Thanks

quantize function
I think that what the original poster meant was starting the FIRST clip, in an attempt to match the clips with say...a record or CD that was playing. I find that I'm having that exact same problem.
Even with my input latency set to the smallest setting. I have found that I have to learn to trigger the clip inbetween the 3rd and 4th beat of the Measure Before I want the clip to start playing. I haven't tried it with quantize off yet, that might be worth checking out, then turning it back on to trigger additional scenes or clips in synch.
Does anyone have any additional input?
Thanks.

Just hit space (or whichever key/midi controller you've assigned to the clip/scene stop/start) as accurately as possible on the first beat and have your tempo highlighted. Click arrow up (or assign a controller, haven't tried it) a bpm or two for a little while and back down when the beats are matched (this is of course assuming you're bringing the track in on another channel which you can pre-listen in your headphones AND that your track on the CDJ (or whatever source) is accurately the same bpm you Live project is). That's how I do it. With Live4.04 and a 1GHz 17" G4 the latency is almost as small as the CDJs but definitely needs some getting used to.
