From NI's site "AUDIO KONTROL 1 drivers are multi-client capable. "

First of all they might only be talking about the audio parts only, or they might be talking about some possible future version of the software. They do that.

I'm not a fan, as you might have guessed, but by all means, ask on their forum.

I'd rather trust your judgement than risk it tbh.

I'll be using my Audiofire2 with my MBP for a bit yet I think.

the midi isn't, not for me anyway, and I don't think for anyone. Ew reads this forum, and moderates at NI, so perhaps he can give you a fully accurate Mac-related answer. Or you can ask over there, or pm him.

I saw the Audio Kontrol1 today and I am impressed, really small and with lots of smart features. It was just before closing so I will go tomorrow with my notebook and check it out, if latencies are decent I will buy it. I like to have second, more portable interface , Echo will be available next month but NI gives me midi so combined with Faderfoxes I can have as portable setup as only possible. The SOS review sounds good too.

Thanks Robin for bringing that topic, I would have never noticed that nice little NI box. It is much better sounding, lower latencies then Audiofire that i had for some time when they came out. Some basic controller functions are really useful. Specially that you can choose midi or keys so I will set for those non midiable functions in Live like tab/view etc. I tested it under heavy load and was able to keep low latency.I was waiting for new Echo express but Audio Kontrol is much more flexible. Sorry for your troubles but I really benefited from it.

I think we picked up our Audiofires at the same time. I like the device but it isn't perfect.

Are you on OSX with the NI AK1?
