In my experience with Apple store the guys working there are only arrogant pricks.
That's why I buy Apple in the retail stores not at the Apple Store. It's a better experience not going thru all those bullshits.
We'll see what the audio industry will do. They rely on FW400 and FW800 only a few are offering USB2 Audio cards. There's a chance they push for a re-adoption.
Let's not forget some time ago when Tiger 10.4.10 didn't recognize FW audio interfaces, they fixed it in the end with 10.4.11. Beside that also remember how Apple was forced by the user base to let iLife 08 user to download iMovieHD because they removed some functionalities... what about an on-line petition in which Audio software and hardware companies participate?

You are more calm than I. I would have said a heart-felt "FUCK YOU. DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW MUCH TIME I SPEND WORKING WITH MUSIC?!" and walked right the fuck out. That shit's hella rude, and that salesman sounds like a douchebag.

Either that, or I'd show him how well my white Mac Book runs Logic, Live, Photoshop, and other various applications. I'd also show him that it's possible to run Pro Tools with a bunch of Waves SSL plugins here and there along with some CSR reverb and amplitube. As much as I love my Macbook to death, I'm not going to get a new notebook until either Apple puts firewire back in, or MOTU decides to make a sound card with a better interface. I was planning on a new Macbook too. Phooey.

The last place you're going to get good advice about anything is in a store. Sad but usually true.

I heard a rumor that Apple is going to change the name of MacBook to MacBook the "Joe Plumber" or "Joe Six pack" edition.
