The Soviet Union is alive and well, even trying to gain ground in this country. It's now called, "The United Socialist Republic of Barak Obama". Coming soon to devastate a wallet near you.rjbourc wrote:Sometimes I wish that the Soviet Union still existed so that they could nuke us into oblivion and put us out of our misery.
"Where'd Russia go?"

Don't be so ignorant to assume so. As a tax paying, property owning citizen, I just happen to care and think enough not to put my vote toward someone who has no record to back his claims. The only record I can find is voting to raise taxes on those who make at least $42k a year (the middle class) and endorsing wasteful spending while in senate. Do your research. Nobody in their right mind would vote for someone on the basis of mere words and charisma, especially when it contradicts their own record. You can argue with me all you want, but the proof is in the record or lack thereof.elxicano wrote:metafactor wrote:The Soviet Union is alive and well, even trying to gain ground in this country. In the UK, as I suspect in many other countries, elections are fought on vague half truths and 'promises' made by simpering politicians.
It seems in America you go more for incredible outrageous plotlines to drive the voting, like a 50's B movie.
I've found it extra hilarious during this last bit of the US elections to see this 'communist' stuff going round. I get the feeling that about 30% of Americans really believe Obama is a communist arab with a mission to blow up the whitehouse with exploding kittens, but not before he makes every man a homosexual abortionist.
I'm sure I get a skewed picture from the internet. I hope I get a skewed picture from the internet, but really ... gullible doesn't cover it!
I'm not sure if you have pantomimes out there in the rest of the world, but it's a gaudy showbiz kids treat here in the UK. Think daytime soap but with less believable plots and freaky xenophobic/racist stereotyping, last popular in about 1850.
This election looks just like one!
Obama, the commie terrorist yesterday

Umm, the Bushevik cabal took care of our wallets already comrade. Better save your money before you vote for McTonsMoreWhereThatCameFrom. There's lots of ways to take your money other than taxes. You've lived through them already. Went great huh.
Dude, it's the same tax plan as Bill Clinton's. You like McSame's claims? I'm sure you did your research but you went no further than Fox's Hannity. You've been duped.
Go ahead then, defend McCain's plan ......
did you catch these youtubes posted yesterday?Angstrom wrote:In the UK, as I suspect in many other countries, elections are fought on vague half truths and 'promises' made by simpering politicians.

i have zero faith that obama is "better" or that change will really happen, but it is certainly better than the alternative. if macain/palin represent these people, and this is the view some of the world has of americans (and rightfully so

Right, you just ignored the whole Palin issue by attacking Obama, who at least has a foreign policy.metafactor wrote:Don't be so ignorant to assume so. Listen to what I assume is your pick for VP say about foriegn policy, and try to come back with ANYTHING that somehow makes this woman look like anything more than an idiot? McCain I'm not afraid of really, this lady!
@Angstrom, yes it's a comedy. the third party debates were pretty good. Neither Nader or Baldwin were at all disrespectful towards each other.
