you can set it up to do a round robin
to play notes in a sequential order
can you tell me how to do this ?
somebody mentioned a tutorial by the cov ops, but
i can't find it on their site...

you want Bjorns music box thing that he made a while back

http://www.covops.org/index.php/View-de ... c-Box.html
An often requested plugin is a plugin that lets the user play a predefined sequence with 1 note. Usually referred to as a Musicbox / Round-Robin effect.
it's a Live 7 rack

sublimelobc wrote:coupe- by placing scale after random....you can program the order of the notes you want, you can manually move the yellow square to whatever note you wish, then in random you would set the probability to 100, set the number of notes you want it to cycle through with the "choices" and "scale" dials, then change to setting "alt" from "rnd".
sorry, i don't get it. could you perhaps send me a screenshot ?

ah, there we have it.
didn't know they changed the random effect in live 7...

never mind, i was already quite successful building
something in Reaktor.

nebulae wrote:agreed with moody...what you're looking for is a sequence that you trigger with some intelligence or scripting build in - I suspect you'd need Plogue Bidule or Max or some other intelligent scheme to get this to work.

Another option might be to run EnergyXT as a vsti plugin inside Live and use it's sequencer.
:P for both suggestions you can add Usine, but i'm not sure that it's not a kind of insult in here!at least a tabou
but all those limitations will end with Cycling-Ableton fusion for Live8 as they said they will do for Live7?
random(with or without repeat?) is good anyway
and i may surely be done with Reaktor!...

i want to have 1 key (midi or computer keyboard) that plays
note 1 when i press it for the first time, note 2 when i press
it the second time and so on...

so i want to play the melody by just typing the rhythm
of the melody on one key. i am shure i can do this in live,
but i don't find a way how...
-Set a clip with your melody in it.(MIDI or audio whatever, session mode)
-maybe you need do edit a volume envelope that you will move and adapt.
-duplicate it until all the medlody is rythmicaly complete.
-Simply use the Launch menu to assign "next" mode and the quantize you need for your melody.(clip must be set to "one shot",but could be fun in "repeat" if there wasn't this awful repeat Ableton bug)
-then assign the play button of the global scene launch.
-set your preferences to "next scene on launch"(or something like that)
each time you will trig this button it will play current note and get ready for the next. Pfffffffffffff.... is that so???

finaly,what you need is a slicer,isn't it?

ps: what a shame we could even edit an simple volume envelope without warping! is it ok in Live7?

with Usine it has be done yesterday!

yes, that is exactely what i was searching for.
but it is mac only, so i have built it in reaktor.
you can do it in 20 minutes if you don't have
to check the manual every 30 seconds like me...
