Midi keyboard

hey I have a midi keyboard with a built in studio drum kit but when I try to record with Live you do not hear drums you only hear the grand piano sound. Is the program able to use sounds straight from the midi keyboard?

Is there a separate output for the drums or is it a single, mixed output?

What type of keyboard is it and what's on the back panel?

it is a single output and the keyboard is a yamaha DGX-220. Could it be something that i have to configure with the program?

are you connecting directly via usb or taking audio out of the keyboard into your soundcard/audio interface?

My guess is that you are recording just the MIDI data via the USB connection.

By default Live will play this back on MIDI channel 1. Try changing the MIDI channel in the drop down selector in the output routing area for the track.

By convention drum sounds are often found on channel 10.
