Gaiser's LIVE ACT ! How ?

Hi guys,

last friday I listened to Gaiser at CocoonClub FFM.

AWESOME!

I know that he uses the UC-33 to control his set in Ableton LIVE.

I ask myself for a long time how he iscontrolling his whole set with only this conroller ?

He uses a lot of clips in Ableton but how does he starts every single clips with just one controller ?

That is magic for me!

Do you have any idea ?

Not sure about the UC-33, but I can launch/stop every single clip in my set with two encoders on one of my faderfoxes:

Encoder 1 - turn left/right to scroll up/down through scenes and push to launch selected clip/scene
Encoder 2 - turn left right to scroll left/right through tracks and push to stop selected clip/scene

I'd assume he's doing something similar.

it's pretty simple, actually.

The uc33 has like 10 buttons available.

1 for scene up
1 for scene down
8 for Track Launch

all three of these elements you can easily look up in the Live manual

And the UC33e has 33 memory banks that you can map to any parameter in Live.

Click MIDI learn and assign a controller to the buttons circled

what is the scene select function for? doesnt seem to be working for me

i use the UC 33 as well and a Macbook
i use the UC 33 to control 5-6 main channels
i use the last 2-3 channels for my return channels
I use the knobs above each channel for efect sends (i usually use 3)
I use the master channel for the crossfader
i eq on a seperate hardware mixer
and i use my computer keyboard to trigger clips and solo etc....
hope that gives insight into a potential set up....
not sure what Gaiser uses.... but it sounds good
