train wrecks.

Post by neuromyth » Thu Oct 30, 2008 10:19 am

i have been getting this problem for a long time now, when i start to have more than 3-4 plugins(vst's) it would lag, trainwreck, buffer samples, and i could never really hear what im making.I thought it was because i was only using a 1.8 ghz imac with 1gb ram, because i was freezing and still had the same issues, freezing helps, but only for a little bit.

so i bought a 2.8ghz pentiud pc,with 2gb ram and i still have the same problem when swapping tracks with my buddy,he will send me a finished track with hardly any fx,everything frozen or re-sampled,yet i can't play the parts that have alot of tracks playing at once, but those tracks have nothing on them.

any help would be appreciated

Hi,

not sure I fully understand the problem. However, have you optimized your audio buffer settings as described in our integrated 'Setting Up Audio I-O' lesson? What buffer size do you end up with then?

Is 'Delay Compensation' enabled in the 'Options' menu?

Best,
