Key Change buildup

Post by Aequitas123 » Thu Oct 30, 2008 5:28 pm

I'm doing a remix where i have to switch keys from the last chorus to the outro. Its only 2 steps.

I'm wondering the best way to this.

Right now i have a sample of the track with linear increasing transpose and a operator with a bit of crunch to it with linear increasing transpose.

It sounds okay, but i'm sure there could be a better way.

I would also be interested to hear any tips on obtaining a quick "sucking up" sound. Something like a dropping pitch, frequency, and/or EQ.

"suckin up sound" would be something like a zipper, or reverse reverb.
A great zipper, for example, is an electric guitar chord rocked once and letting it play out for a few bars --- but then reversed. Use the reversed version.

Reverse reverb how to (you can skip some steps)

Oh man, best way to do a key change is to just hit 'em with it. No warning, nothing!

Just what I was thinking.

Well, maybe a passing note.
